We share costs

Each 25L XOÀI Pack costs us $31 to buy from the factory, which is about 28% of the retail price. This is actually a high buy price as we are choosing to work with a boutique manufacturing parter and have low order volume.

After that, roughly 47% of the cost goes to marketing, administration, or other expenses needed to sell the product.

We take a 27% margin — this is directly reinvested into the business for growth.

We sell our pack for $110 (plus shipping). Other brands charge $200-300 for products that use the same technical materials we do — ECOPAK, TPU-coated ripstop, and EVA foam. Not convinced? Look it up.

XOÀI Packs is on a mission to make technical, ethically-sourced gear affordable. We run a lean business to save on expenses. We make sure the people that actually make the bags are paid fairly and work in good conditions. And we keep prices transparent and realistic for you, the consumer.

Why does the bag cost $110?

  • The unit cost we purchase from our vendor, FFG. Includes material, labor, overhead and profit for FFG. This is considered a high unit cost because we keep a low MOQ and use premium materials.

  • What it costs to get the backpack to the customer.

    • Marketing and Admin

    • Platform Fee

    • Warranty

    • Contingency

Shipping is calculated separately because there are different rates for different regions.

  • Any profit is reinvested in the business for growth.

Shipping is calculated separately because there are different rates for different regions.

Note: Costs change — materials, shipping, and fees all fluctuate. What we’ve shared here is our best estimate. As XOÀI grows, we’ll keep updating these numbers to stay as transparent as possible.
